Ten Years, 1200 Reviews, & What We've Learned About People
It's hard to believe, but we've been welcoming guests into our little corner of the valley for over a decade now. More than 1,200 reviews which means around about 2,000 guests.
I’ve been thinking recently about how over the years we’ve had so many more positive experiences with guests than negative. People are, mostly, caring and appreciative.
To be honest, we were nervous at first. Braelee is our home, a place we’ve poured our heart and soul into. Inviting total strangers into a space we care so deeply about felt scary. But ten years has taught us that the majority of guests are respectful, appreciative, and genuinely lovely people.
They treat the place with respect. They leave notes and even small gifts. They message afterwards to say thank you. They tell their friends.
We feel genuinely fortunate to have been proven right about human nature.
Why We Do It
We’ve always known we live somewhere special, but guests have a way of reminding us. Especially those that arrive slightly harried but leave lighter.
We love sharing this pocket of the valley. That's really the heart of it. We believe there's something here worth passing on, and hosting has proven that to be true.
Here's to the Next Ten
Trust has always been at the heart of what we do — a beautiful two-way exchange. Guests trust that they'll find the experience they've been longing for, and in turn, we trust them to treat this place with the same care and respect we've poured into it.
We’re happy knowing someone left feeling refreshed, found clarity, reconnected with someone they love, rediscovered their creativity or celebrated a life milestone.
To every single person who has stayed with us, shared a kind word, or taken a piece of this valley home in their heart – THANK YOU. You’re the reason we do this.
Here's to sharing it with many more.
